We were at Target today scouting out some new shoes for Brynlee. My wonderful Mom has offered to purchase Brynlee her next pair of Stride Rites. So we will go to the mall for those next weekend, but Jimmy and I went today to scope out some church shoes and maybe some slippers.
We were in the shoe section and Brynlee was running a muck as per usual. Another couple came in with a little girl who looked to be around Brynlee's age. This little girl was very well behaved, and sat quietly while her parents tried shoes on her.
I saw them reach for a size 4 shoe and figured that this little girl must be quite a bit younger than Brynlee. Considering Brynlee wore a size 4 shoe about 7 months ago...
I asked them how old their daughter was and they said she was 20 months. Hmm... I held the size 7 ( yes size 7) shoes we were picking out for Brynlee in my hand and looked at them. The lady asked me how old Brynlee was and I almost lied and told her Brynlee was like 3 to make it seem like my child is a normal size. But that would make her behavior seem even worse. So I told her that Brynlee was 17 months old and took her curious stare like a champ.
Maybe Brynlee's size isn't leveling out after all. :)
Brynlee's size is not the only large thing about her. She has a large personality as well. With a large baby temper. And large need to explore, help, investigate and do things independently of any help. She is a firecracker. My day care lady tells me she has a " fun personality". I'm sure that is what she calls it to my face. Once I leave the room I bet the word "fun" is substituted for something else. :)
But Brynlee also gives large hugs, really large sloppy kisses and large smiles whenever you hide from her and pop out of places. She has a large heart, and always shares large portions of her food with you. She just expects you to share with her when you have something tasty. As mentioned on my previous post.

Size 7? That's big, but get this...Katelynn was in a size 7-8 when she was like 13 months! She is gargantuan though! That little girl must have been tiny, size 4 is really small. Brynlee seems like a good size, Kenna is in a 5 1/2 6 right now. Good luck shoe shopping and don't spend too much money on one pair! Looks like she won't wear them for too long!
Okay i was a little off, she was about 15 months when she was in a 7-8 but still, that's big!
Holy moly! Charlotte is barely in an 8 now and I thought she had big feet. All the nurses when she was born kept commenting on her oversized feet when she was born. I guess her boat feet have evened out although she's still dang tall. I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte's feet are still big when she's older though. Scott has big feet for his height and I'm probably about average for mine. I really need to get Charlotte some new church shoes. She's cramming into a 7 still and her sandals that fit are just not gonna work since our temps dropped. I've also discovered that although Charlotte is a monster with me and can resemble a child possessed by a demon when she throws her really big fits, she is usually good with other people in like nursery or when I leave her with my parents or Scott's. She can still have her moments with them but the worst seems to be with me so for all you know, you're fooling the world! I'll keep that going if I can! :)
ok, jocelyn and brynlee need to get together someday. i seriously feel i am reading about my child when you post about brynlee. every time i see a kid her size i think, they must be about the same age and they are probably 6 months older. then they just quietly stare at her as she marches right up to them, sticks her face in theirs and says (loudly) HI!!!! and don't get me started about her staying still...
If it makes you feel any better, my 3 year old is almost in an 11!
